THE LONDON COLLAGE PROJECT
In May 2025, I was honored to be selected for The London Collage Project —a residency hosted by Les Jones, publisher of Contemporary Collage Magazine, and mentored by renowned collage artist Cecil Touchon.
Over the course of a week, I joined 17 other talented collage artists from around the world, each bringing unique perspectives and styles.
All of the paper used in my work was either purchased or discovered throughout London, creating a direct link between the art and the city.
The residency offered time, space, and inspiration to experiment and collaborate, culminating in an exhibition in the artistic neighborhood of Hackney Wick.
It was an unforgettable opportunity to grow within a vibrant, international creative community.
DELANEY AND MORRIS (SOLD) was made with images from an article on MARY DELANEY - a ground-breaking collage artist from London in the 1700’s known for her flowers against black - and plates from a book on London’s most well-known and respected wallpaper designer, WILLIAM MORRIS. I love how the result became an almost underwater scene with clouds swimming along like fish. Collage Dimensions 11 × 17 in., Frame Dimensions 18 × 24 in.
COPPER BOX (SOLD) was made started with an inverted image of lit windows. As I lived in London for the week, I had a fondness for the rooftops. I found myself singing Chim Chim Cher-ee from Mary Poppins as I walked around this Disney set of a city. On my way to Hackney Wick I walked past the beautiful Copper Box arena built for the 2012 Summer Olympics as a reminder of the juxtaposition of the new architecture against the old. Collage Dimensions 11 × 17 in., Frame Dimensions 18 × 24 in.
BUCKINGHAM ATLAS (click to purchase) was made with three different views of the palace yards from an enormous atlas of London. Other papers include decorative materials from CHOOSING KEEPING -my favorite stationary shop in London - as well as local wallpaper magazines and wallpaper samples. Collage Dimensions 11 × 17 in. Frame Dimensions 18 × 24 in. (click to purchase)

Up where the smoke is all billered and curled 'Tween pavement and stars is the chimney sweep world When the's 'ardly no day Nor 'ardly no night There's things 'alf in shadow And 'alf way in light On the roof tops of London Cool, what a sight
